Chronic pain/Injury recovery

Medical research shows that yoga is one of the most effective ways to address chronic pain (including arthritis and fibromyalgia), injury recovery (back injuries, recovery from joint surgery), and stress, while boosting energy and fostering a sense of well-being.

Private yoga sessions can also help improve your yoga practice as you learn more about your body and how you move, identifying areas in need of strengthening or stretching, and better body mechanics, on and off your yoga mat. This applies to all levels of yoga. Services include:

Prenatal Yoga

I’ll work with you throughout your pregnancy, in personalized yoga sessions, to address common complaints resulting from your changing posture. Yoga can help with pain in the low back, ribs, hips and groin, as well as ligament pain from your growing uterus and the laxity in the soft tissue. We’ll work on postural alignment, stretching and strengthening, working to resolve the pain that may result from imbalances and overuse.

Postpartum Recovery

A woman’s body undergoes vast changes during pregnancy and after delivery. Personalized yoga sessions put the focus back on you, so you are equipped to handle the challenges of motherhood and the unique physical demands of caring for an infant. I will help you ease back into your practice, correcting misalignments and imbalances before they become part of your post partum physiology. Yoga helps to reintegrate abdominal and other core muscles, tone the pelvic floor and assist in recovery from surgery or trauma to the tissues. It’s the ideal tool for regaining strength, addressing imbalances, reconnecting with body and breath, reinforcing proper alignment, and creating the focus you crave.
